Congratulations to Kentucky State and Delaware State teams and coaches for an exciting tournament championship series.
Kentucky State became only the second team in the 25 year history of the league to win a back to back post season tournament championship by defeating Delaware State. It was a hard fought 2 overtime game with Kentucky State coming out on top 46-44. This year the championship series had two teams who brought out the best in each other and the fans were treated to some very exciting basketball.
Kentucky State was led by M. Levin game high 22 points/6 rebounds/3 block shots and Delaware State was led by C. Medard team high 16 points/8 rebounds/2 steals/4 assists/2 block shots.

The championship series (best 2 out of 3 games) got off to an exciting start last night as the 2009 defending tournament champs, Kentucky State held off a fast charging Delaware State team to win 42-40. This was a game fans did not want to end because each team kept battling back and forth the entire game. Kentucky State took a two point lead with 13 seconds remaining and held off Delaware State’s valiant attempt to tie and send the game into over time. Delaware had its chances at the foul line and took the games last shot but Kentucky State poise and defense enabled them to hold on for the victory.
Kentucky States balanced attack was led by B. Zunamon 10 points, B Newman 10 points, M. Levin 10 points, E. Josephs 5 points, B. Snider 4 points, and B. Farrow 3 points. Delaware States strong team play was led by C. Medard game high 16 points, D. Vaughters 6 points, C. Carter 5 points, J. Davis 5 points, P. Montgomery 4 points, J. Figueroa 2 points, and M. McCullough 2 points.
Game 2 will be played tonight (March 23, 2010/ 7:00PM). If Kentucky State wins, championship awards will be presented after the game. If Delaware State wins, a 3rd deciding game will be played Wednesday, March 24, 2010 / 7:00PM . Good Luck to both teams and coaches (Kentucky State – Coach Tawana Robinson and Delaware State – Coach Eric Dortch).

You've got to get to the stage in life where going for it is more important than winning or losing. -- Arthur Ashe
“It really doesn't matter if the person who hurt you deserves to be forgiven. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. You have things to do and you want to move on."

But Greatly Appreciated!
How simple it is to see
that all the worry in the world
cannot control the future.
How simple it is to see
that we can only be happy now.
And that there will never be a time
when it is not now.
