Delaware State beat 2010 regular season champs, Florida A&M 48-43 (2-1 series) to earn the right to meet Kentucky State, 2009 defending tournament champs, .

Last year tournament champs, Kentucky State beat Alabama State 37-28 to close out round 2 (2-0). Kentucky awaits the winner of Delaware State and Florida A&M game tonight (March 17, 2010/7:00pm) to play for this year championship.

March 13, 2010 Smith-Faust/Price Tournament - Round 1: Game Results
Game 1: Florida A&M-#1 seed, showed why they finished the regular season undefeated (8-0) as they defeated #8 seed Clark- Atlanta 68-22. Florida A&M moves to round 2 in a mini series against #4 seed Delaware State.Florida A&M was led by A. Washington game high 20 points/6 steals/3 assists, Javon Tucker 16 points/6 rebounds, Joe Tucker 15 points/12 rebounds/6 steals/4 assists,J. Bamberg 11 points/5 rebounds and E. Hagari 6 points/2 steals/3 assists. Clark Atlanta was led by K. Malone 8 points/3 rebounds and M. Hatfield 7 points.
Game 2: Delaware State-#4 seeds', rebounding and three-point shooting was too much for #5 seed Morehouse as they held on to win 56-52. Delaware State moves to round 2 in a mini series against Florida A&M. Delaware State was led by C. Medard game high 19 points/4 rebounds, P. Montgomery 10 points/4 rebounds, D. Vaughters 9 points/3 rebounds M. McCullough 6 points/3 rebounds and J. Davis 4 points/4 assists/2 steals/2 rebounds. Morehouse was led by L. Neely 18 points/4 steals/4 assists/3 rebounds, J. Todd 16 points/7 rebounds and B. Clayborne 10 points//3 rebounds.
Game 3: Alabama State-#2 seed, was pushed to overtime against #7 seed Jackson State but outscored Jackson 11-3 in OT to pull out the win 46-38. Alabama State moves to round 2 in a mini series against Kentucky State. Alabama State was led by J. Woods game high 16 points/7 rebounds, S. Green 12 points, and D. Thomas 9 points/3rebounds.Jackson State was led by E. Roland 14 points, W.Reed 7 points, J. Henry 6 points, an N. Brown 6 points.
Game 4: Kentucky State-#3 seed, had little problems as they jumped out to a half time score of 27-10, and beat #6 seed Fisk 55-36. Kentucky State will play Alabama State in round 2 mini series. Kentucky State was led by M. Levin 13 points/11 rebounds, B. Lev 9 points/4 rebounds,B. Zunamon 6 points/10 rebounds/3 steals,and J. Metters single game, league high 8 assists. Fisk was led by A. Williams game high 21 points.

March 9, 2010 game results
The 2010 final regular season games were played March 9, 2010. In the first game, Alabama State (6-2), the regular season runner-up and post season tournament second seeded team had to overcome a 5 point lead by Fisk in the last 2 minutes to win 45-43. Fisk (2-6) played well at both ends of the court but could not hold off Alabama's late game charge. Fisk enters the post season tournament as the 6th seeded team. Alabama State's balanced attack had 8 players in the scoring column and was led by D. Thomas, team high 13 points/4 rebounds/2steals, K. Marshall 12 points/4 rebounds/3 steals, J. Wood 8 points/5 rebounds and D. Vernier added 4 steals/2 rebounds. Fisk had 6 players in the scoring column and was led by A. Williams game high 16 points/9 rebounds/3 steals/2 assist, L. Williams game high 16 points/2 rebounds, and K. Roberson 3 rebounds/3 steals/2 assist.
In the nights second game, Florida A&M (8-0),the regular season undefeated champs and post season tournament top seeded team jumped off to a fast lead and never looked back against Clark Atlanta (0-8) 45-27. Florida A&M's balanced attack was led by J. Bamberg, game high13 points/7 rebounds/2 assist, Joe Tucker 9 points/8 rebounds/2 assist, J. Williams 8 points, Javon Tucker 6 points/7 rebounds, E. Hagari 5 points/6 rebounds/3 steals and E. Washington 4 assists. A much improved Clark Atlanta team was led by M. Hatfield team high 8 points, J. Worth 6 points/5 rebounds, and S. Erner 6 points. The leagues post season tournament will start this Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 2:30 pm (reference tournament schedule).
